Event FAQs
I am not vegan. Should I attend?
Yes! Everyone is welcome at Bellingham Veg Fest, whether you are vegan, vegetarian, veg-curious, or anything else. We want you to join us!
Is this a free event?
Yes.
Is there parking?
Yes, there is ample, free parking.
Can I bring my dog?
While we love animals, only service dogs are allowed at Bellingham Veg Fest. Pets, emotional support animals (ESAs), therapy dogs, and service dogs in training are not permitted to attend.
Should I bring anything?
This is a Toward Zero Waste event. Please bring your reusable dining items such as a water bottle, utensils, napkins, etc. There will also be a mobile refillery with personal care and household cleaners for sale, so bring your reusable containers if you want to shop. Some additional items that you may find useful are blankets, umbrellas, and raincoats.
Will everything at this event be vegan?
Yes, all items sold, sampled, distributed, and/or displayed at Bellingham Veg Fest will be vegan.
What can I expect at Veg Fest?
You can expect to have fun! There will be around 50 small businesses and organizations present to share their passions with you. There will be food, music, free food samples, raffles, free plant-based pantry, and more!
Will people try to make me vegan?
No, no one will try to make you vegan. Of course, we’d love for everyone to be vegan, but we know that is not the case. Bellingham Veg Fest exists because we want to support people who are interested in learning more about veganism. There will be opportunities for you to engage with passionate people who will be there to answer your questions about veganism and help direct you to the best avenues for support, but you will have the choice to engage at a level that is comfortable for you.
Will people put me down if I’m not vegan?
Absolutely not! The vast majority of vegans weren’t born vegan, and we understand that everyone has their own journey. Our goal is to offer support and inspiration to meet you wherever you’re at on your vegan journey.
Will there be graphic images of animal abuse on display?
No. There will not be any graphic images in plain sight. For those who are interested in learning more about this subject, there will be an organization present that will pay you to watch a 4-minute video/mini-documentary on a device they provide about animal agriculture. You will then have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in conversations.
Is this a kid-friendly event?
Yes.
Will there be activities for kids?
Yes, there will be a Kids’ Corner with sing-a-longs, story time, and magic tricks.
How does the raffle work?
There will be a gift basket given away every hour. Tickets will be 3 for $5. You can also bring vegan non-perishable food items in exchange for a free raffle ticket (one ticket per donation regardless of number of items donated). Winners will be contacted via text and must be present at the event to collect their prize.
